So since the rain kept me in most of the day, I spent a few hours (yes hours =) talking to the boyfriend on Skype. Once the rain let up I set out to run some errands (spend money). I went to a thrift shop nearby that has an entire basement level devoted to Target items. Most of them either used for displays or marketing, but all great deals. I found a new throw pillow ($4), a nice waterproof fall jacket ($15) and a picture frame ($4). Then I went to Michael's to purchase a few things for the craft project I have been meaning to tackle. I had my glass containers on hand already and just needed cacti or succulents and some decorative sand. I should have taken pictures of the process, but I didn't. It was fun to pick out the plants! Home Depot had a lot to choose from. I wasn't expecting it to cost me as much as it did but if I can keep them alive they are really cute and totally worth the investment. Probably around $10 each for the 2 I have now. I do have 3 plants left over that I need to find another container for (I was very much overestimating the size of my containers at home).
And now, I have decided I want to find a shallow glass container ( like the ones used for floating tea lights) and put my left overs in there. They look really cute with the white sand and a few rocks from outside.
Pictures to come later =)
I also picked up a few things for a project that I planned for this week to keep me busy before/after work. I don't think I'll have time or energy to be out running errands but I know I will be bored.
SO....
I bought large letters: H, E and O. they are about 10 inches each. I also bought ModgePodge. Can you guess what I'll be doing with them? So, I still need the letter M but they were all out at Michael's. We have a nice entryway at the new house where I will hang them to welcome us all home. =) I hope I can find some gardening magazines or something so it's cute and flowery instead of ads. I also reallllllyy want to do something like this...
